I love to shop the thrift stores and garage sales. One of the bargains I just can't seem to pass up are the costume jewelry deals. I buy as much as I can. I take the jewelry and break it down so that I can use it for other crafts. I can't find a better deal. One of my favorite pastimes is make crochet bookmarks. I can use beads from costume jewelry, buttons from old clothing, so many options. These make great gifts, simple yet elegant.
I don't always read as much as I should and as much as I would like. To encourage me to read more, crocheting bookmarks while I read really encourages me.
