Shoe Sole

My great niece wants a pair of slippers that she can wear outside.  Most important, is she wants a crochet peacock feather.

I spent two weeks going back and forth with this.  I finally found a vintage craft book with a pattern for making jute soles.

I spent all day yesterday working with the pattern and finally was able to get the sole started.

Have you ever noticed that when you just kinda stop caring, that things just fall into place.  That is how I feel today about my mad Monday.  It will get done, stop putting so much pressure on yourself.  I spend more time worrying about what I can't get done that the things I do get done are not appreciated.

Today, I did get a lot done with an I don't care attitude.

Not that I am recommending that philosophy, but sometimes for me, I just need a break from the urgent...

Crochet Latex Gloves

I finally found a product to clean the calcium off my my teapot.  I am not much of a shopper.  I think the reason is because I get so overwhelmed with it.  I look at something and think to myself, "I could do this, or that."  A small run to the store ends up being hours.

This trip I ended up picking up the calcium remover and I kept passing the latex gloves.  I usually only use them to protect my manicure, but I kept looking at them thinking how multi-functional they are.  For cleaning, gardening, cooking.  So many ideas ran through my head.

I had to pick up a pair. I don't know about everyone else but when I get stressed, there is nothing like washing dishes by hand to relieve the tension.  The warmth of the water is so relaxing.

The pots and pans are a different story at times, so I like to protect my manicure on my nails.

I came home and pulled out the hook and dolled up my latex gloves.

All these years, I could have cleaned in style. Now to do a pair for the bathroom.

This is what I call a moss stitch.  So easy but so dramatic.

Cooking Clips

I had the intentions of trying out new recipes for pasta salads.  As I pulled out all the cookbooks, I came across this vintage cooking clips book that I had picked up several years back.  I am sure I am not the only one who clips out a recipe from a magazine now and then with the intentions of trying it.  Today, I will start trying them out and adding to the book of scattered clippings that I have....

Don't you think this is the cutest book?

Time to put a book together of our favorite family recipes for my Daughter.  I decided that I would make a toilet paper roll album with our favorite recipes.  That's for another day.....

Infused Vodka

Monday's are always very busy.  I try to do as much as I can on this day, because I have had a day of rest, and I have high energy.

I have thirteen things on my list and they are usually things I don't like to do.

Saturday, I bought strawberries so tonight, is about make strawberry shortcake and infused strawberry vodka.  These are so fun to make and they are such great gifts.

Now to find some recipes and crochet a colorful band around the jar.
